The area south of Rattlesnake Mountain was in the path of growth for south Reno. The economic boom of the 2000s and the high demand in the housing market exploded into what is now known as South Meadows/Double Diamond. Flanked to the east by the Virginia Range and bordered to the west by U.S. 395, the south end of South Meadows blends to into Damonte Ranch. South Meadows provides easy access to shopping, the Summit Mall, the Mount Rose Ski Resort, and Lake Tahoe. Sitting close to the technology hub of Reno with employers such as Intuit and Microsoft along with the Renown Hospital’s South Meadows campus and other larger employers, many are drawn to South Meadows’ planned communities of newer construction homes and duets for its convenience to work and play.
